2013-2014 Volunteer Approval Process
Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer in our district. We welcome you to our school and classrooms. The time that you give to our school is extremely important to the academic achievement of our students.
PROCESS TO BECOME A FREQUENT VOLUNTEER
If you are ever alone with students (for example, driving for or chaperoning on a field trip, walking students to the office or library) or volunteer 10 or more hours per week, please visit the district office and bring with you the items listed below. You will be fingerprinted so we can request a criminal background check from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and/or Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). You will also have your picture taken. Once we receive your background clearance, we will print your volunteer badge and send it to the school site where you are volunteering.
- Completed volunteer application (must be signed by principal)
- TB test clearance (must be dated within past 4 years)
- Current California Identification or Driver's License (expired licenses not accepted)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Social Security Number (needed for fingerprinting)
- Payment for fingerprinting fee (effective 10/08/12)
Please provide payment at the time of fingerprinting to the Human Resources staff. They will issue you a receipt.
$48 - California Department of Justice (DOJ) background check. For applicants who have lived continuously in California for the past seven (7) years.
$67 - Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and DOJ background checks. For applicants who have lived outside of California for any period of time in the past seven (7) years.
