Volunteering

2018-2019 Volunteer Approval Process

Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer in our district.  We welcome you to our school and classrooms. The time that you give to our school is extremely important to the academic achievement of our students.

PROCESS TO BECOME A FREQUENT VOLUNTEER

If you are ever alone with students (for example, driving for or chaperoning on a field trip, walking students to the office or library) or volunteer 10 or more hours per week, please visit the district office and bring with you the items listed below. You will be fingerprinted so we can request a criminal background check from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and/or Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). You will also have your picture taken. Once we receive your background clearance, we will print your volunteer badge and send it to the school site where you are volunteering.

  • Completed volunteer application (must be signed by principal) - Look to the locker on the left of this screen to find Volunteer Applications in English, Spanish, Russian and Hmong.
  • TB test clearance (must be dated within past 4 years)
  • Current California Identification or Driver's License (expired licenses not accepted)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Social Security Number (needed for fingerprinting)

(Additional steps are required if you wish to become a volunteer driver. Click HERE for more information.)
