From October News Letter
Dear Parents,
I hope everything is going well with you and your family. Ridgepoint continues to be a busy place, with lots of fun activities and engaging learning. It is hard to believe, but soon we will be coming to the end of the 1st trimester on October 30th. As we do every year, Ridgepoint School conducts Parent Conferences at the end of the first trimester. I can't stress enough how important it is to attend these conferences and sit down with your child's teacher to discuss their progress. Our Parent Conferences are scheduled for the week of November 16th thru 20th. This week will be minimum days on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday will stay the same. Conferences will be held after school on the minimum days and in the morning of Late Start Wednesday. Our goal is to meet with EVERY parent. We know that by working closely with parents, we provide the best education for your children. Thank you for joining us for this important meeting.
On another note, I have been asked by a number of parents about what they can do to help protect the school after hours or on weekends. I appreciate the community keeping an eye on the school when there is not staff present. We have had our share of vandalism and it is disheartening to everyone. If you see anyone in the courtyard, on the roofs, or on campus doing something illegal (drinking, fireworks, vandalizing) I encourage you to call our Twin Rivers Police Department at (916) 286-4875. You will get a quicker response than calling the Sheriff's department. Thank you for protecting the school and keeping Ridgepoint a beautiful facility for your children.
Thanks to our PTA for sponsoring our annual Family Picnic on September 17th. We had a great turnout and had lots of fun. This is just one of many activities that are being planned for this year by our PTA. The next event is our Fall Carnival which will be held on Saturday, October 17th, from 11 am - 2 pm. This is another event you won't want to miss.
I hope you have a great month!
Jim McLaughlin, Principal
